The staff went for a Duck Tour starting from Suntec City today. Just learned that the amphibious vehicle was actually used during the war as it can travel on land as well as water. It seems that the "Orlean Duck" and "Katrina Duck" were also used in the rescue work when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans causing massive flooding in 2005. After splashing down into the water, we were brought to see the Marina Bay area before going back on land to the Civic District area. After the duck tour, the staff went for bowling at Kallang Leisure Park.

Johor June 2012 KSL
Stayed at the KSL resort this time round. What I love most is that the hotel is connected to the mall and many of the restaurants or food vendors can also be found around the area. You can really forget about the room service as the menu is merely a piece of photocopied paper with a hefty price of RM19 for nasi goreng and another RM19 for satay. You should really venture to the street outside (walk towards the 11@century hotel) where you can get satay (10 sticks with ketupat) for RM7 or my favourite luk luk which you can ask for the food items to be boiled, fried or even grilled! There is a popular Bak Kut Teh restaurant just opposite KSL - you must really try it - I like the soup which does not have a strong herbal smell like the one in Singapore but tasted so rich and sweet. I also like their sesame oil chicken which tasted what I had when I was a child. The garlic oysters (RM13 per set of 3)@ Oyster King are so good that my husband finished 5 of them - I took one though I am not a fan of oyster and it was so delicious that we went back for me the next day but only one set was left at 920pm. The curry chicken with bun from tea garden and the toast from Toast box are other good stuff from KSL. We also managed to eat at my favourite wanton mee shop - Ho Sheng Kee.
There is free wi-fi in the room but it is extremely slow and I could not post this at the hotel. The spread for the breakfast buffet is good but they must really improve on the coffee...especially when they serve coffee from a container rather than a pot and tasted a bit too diluted. I went to Fizzio for the body massage - the one opposite Sri Taman Tebrau (大马) and the one near Plaza Sentosa. We had the steamboat, Kang Kong and Butter crayfish at Sri Taman Tebrau. I would highly recommend the butter crayfish as the flesh is so juicy wrapped with the crispy and buttery batter. Most probably would stay at Grand Sentosa in my next visit as there are so many nice restaurants such as Kim Do nearby.
The TV programmes are really limited so at the end we bought a DVD player from Aeon (sony brand at only RM99) and some original TVB series from the mall - there is this promotion for the old series at only RM9.90 - incredibly cheap. Ate at the Taang Sifu here rather than the one at KSL.
I also went to Danga City Mall to buy some stamps - LG3-09 - highly recommend as most of his first day cover and stamps are just RM3 to RM5 each...so much cheaper than in Singapore.
