JB Holiday Villa March 2018

Day 1
Caught in the traffic congestion for more than one and half hour. Checking into holiday villa as we had been staying in Grand Sentosa for the past few years. Refreshing change but room not available yet as it was fully booked the night before. Saw the Japanese restaurant Muraii at the hotel ground floor. Learned from FB post that the food is quite nice but the restaurant is hidden behind the comic store front.

Went to eat at Yong He Kway Tiao and Yit Foh wanton mee. Don't like the fish ball as it doesn't taste fresh at Yong He though hubby likes the pig kidney.

The wanton mee at Your Foh is popular with local but is another disappointment to me as the mee is a bit hard. Made me yearn for Ho Seng Kee more.

As it was still too early to check in, we went for a massage at Imperial reflexology in KSL first. There is also screening of the movie Maleficent while we had our foot massage.

Checked into room on the 18th floor and love how spacious it is. Service is excellent and requests  e.g. More pillows were attended to almost immediately.

Mini bar items are free

Love the strong rain shower which is separated from the bath tub

Weird to have the bathtub overseeing the bed. Drew down the curtain.

Went back to KSL to pick up hubby spectacles. For a degree of 750 with astigmatism, I was really amazed that they could get it done within 30 mins at only RM285. Love the frame which has ear hooks you can pull down.

Took a cab to Aeon Tebrau City. Bought some tvb drama series at a promotion of buy one get one free.

Love the egg tarts at Macau Express. So buttery and crunchy.

Went back to the hotel and ate our dinner at Muraii, the Japanese restaurant hidden behind the comic book store.

Assorted Sashimi

Love the lamb rack

The Wagyu beef is so good!

Grilled cuttlefish with garlic rice

Went for Thai Traditional massage at Thai Odyssey in the hotel which operates 24 hr. Really stretched my body and felt so much better.

Went up to sky bar 26 to take a look. The sunrise tequila and blue Margarita were too diluted. Live band was playing Chinese songs so hubby don't quite like it but the view of the surrounding area  was captivating.

Late night room service. The satay was nice but the curry chicken was too salty.

Day 2

Great variety for breakfast but nothing fantastic that will make me wake up early for. They must improve on the coffee. That's why hubby do not like hotel breakfast.

Took a cab to plaza Sentosa to buy some stuff. Love the coffee there.

Went up to the swimming pool on the 25th floor. You will need your room card to open the doors to the pool.

Amazing view from the infinity pool. Water is so cool as it's in the shade. Had the whole pool to ourselves.
There are two staff around so it's very safe. Clean towels provided too. There is a gym next to it just below the sky bar.

There is a sauna room in the toilet as well.

Ate at Soon Soon Heng bak kut teh opposite KSL. Ordered bak kut teh with small intestines, sesame oil and salted vegetable. Still prefer Soon Soon Heng at Taman Sentosa which is more fragrant and bigger in potion.

Took a cab over to Paradigm Mall and had a good coffee break at the Good Coffee cafe. The white  coffee and chocolate banana are very nice!

Cab back to the hotel for another massage at Thai Odyssey. Decided to try the aromatherapy massage.
The sun set as viewed from our hotel room.

Had a aromatherapy massage at Thai Odyssey. It's so convenient being located in our hotel.

Using the essential oil energy

Ate our late dinner at East Dragon restaurant. Love the Beijing duck and scallop with foie gras. Also ordered mixed vegetable, steam fish and chendol.

Ate the durian by the street and bought the lok lok there. Doesn't taste as good as the one at Taman Sentosa. Think it is the oil they use.

Bought cappuccino from Doi Chang in our hotel. Average. But operating 24 hour so it's convenient.

Day 3
Shocked that breakfast spread is still the same. The bee hoon, chicken porridge and hot soy bean drink taste good. The rest are still disappointing. The drinks and coffee still diluted.

Went to He Ming Ji nearby to eat the wanton mee. Hubby likes it a lot but I still prefer Ho Seng Kee.

Went for a hair cut at the Korean salon in our hotel. Really amazed at how the hair stylist could make my hair curl without a perm. Made me look younger.
Too bad the curl is gone after swimming in the pool. Quite a short one as it started to rain.

Love the shabu shabu at Arashi in KSL. The ala carte beef is better than the set. The set is good as there is a variety of vegetable.

Did some shopping and managed to buy some dresses, scarf, necklace and hat from local celebs in KSL.

Went for a body scrub, aromatherapy massage and foot massage at Thai Odyssey. This time round I chose Muay essential oil for muscle stiffness and butter pea for the scrub.

Day 4
Going home today.
Checked out breakfast at the hotel. At least some changes today. Nice pancake. Naan too hard. Love the chicken rendang and hot soya bean drink. Wedges is crispy and nice too. Kway tiao average. Coffee still as bad. The dark sauce beside half boiled egg is sweet 🤔 😫 prefer salty one #holidayvillajohorbahru.
