Butterfly Garden Design Competition Award Ceremony

Our students participated in the competition last year and I am proud that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners were all from our school. The Sec 1 students have been maintaining the butterfly garden near our school as part of our community building project. The form teachers have guided the students in this competition as part of the CIP as they learn how to better care for the environment.

The award ceremony was held at Alexandra Canal Linear Park where the first prize winners' design in the shape of a star was realised at the park. The award ceremony coincides with Earth Day and 2 more trees were planted at the park by Mr Tai (Sharp Managing Director) and Professor Tan (Garden City Fund) . Mr Chia, our VP, was also present at the award ceremony to support the students.

The winners received their portable ion generators (worth $209 each)as well as the trophies and cert. They had already received their cash prize last year - $800, $500 and $250 and they have donated part of their cash prize to the needy pupils' fund - $200, $100 and $50. The first prize winner has also won for the school a plasmacluster Ion Generator worth $1999.

Glad that this sharing has benefited teachers and students worldwide :) — at http://urlmetrics.co.uk/www.olevelgeog.blogspot.com
