JB March 2015 Grand Sentosa

Day 1 18 Mar
Checked into Grand Sentosa hotel suite as we love the TV which can be flipped to face the sofa or face the bed.

Fridge is only available in the suite.

Went to the Coffeeshop next to KSL. Love their coffee and bun which is so soft and the meat so juicy.

Tried their wanton mee but still prefer Ho Seng Kee near to 11@century hotel.

My favourite goreng pisang - worth the wait!

I was tempted by the fragrant of the prawn mee but taste average

Managed to login to the free wi-fi @Dcave

the kampong nasi goreng is nice

I still prefer the pork knuckle we had @ vivocity

Back to modern revelation for their shabu shabu - love their miso soup and herbal soup

the home made pork paste is better than the fish paste in the bamboo

my favourite mango ice.

Attracted by the row of malay food street vendors near the hotel

Fell in love with the satay - so tender and juicy!

Day 2
Had our body massage around RM$120 for 2 hours per pax which is around S$50!

I tried the fried durian at city square. the durian fire ball taste like muah chee with durian fillings and the tempura was very crispy.

We walked from city square to Little India as there is a night market there - Pasar Karat (Johor Bazaar)

The coronation of the Sultan of JB to be held on 23 Mar and you can see the banners and flags everywhere.

Took some snacks here as most of the stalls in the night market not opened yet.

Love the egg thosai

Johor Bazaar or better known as Pasar Karat by the locals

This is the row of Chinese street vendors just opposite that of the Malay street vendors near our hotel

What I have been longing for - grill from Kimdo restaurant opposite my hotel. Especially the chicken wings which has been deboned! The prawns are as big as the fish filled with roes!

some vegetables from the luk luk stall as well as the super crunchy beancurd.

Day 3
Went only to Plaza Pelangi and wanted to eat the Kway Tiao at Ka Hoe restaurant nearby but was told it was already sold out at 12 noon!
Most popular Kway Tiao Kia - only managed to try it once.

settled for wanton mee nearby. Miss Ho Seng Kee which is not cooked with the black soy sauce

Love soon huat bak kut teh

the salted vegetable would make you ask for more rice

100% recommended - their sesame oil claypot chicken

ordered the fried durian from the shop near to soon huat bak kut teh

simply love the biscuits - never knew that the malt filling is so soft that it oozes out - will get more next visit. from the same shop selling fried durian.

Highly recommend this HK style shabu shabu

a sumptuous spread less than s$10!

the fried fish skin is surprising nice - crunchy and no smell at all

Love the pig bone soup and my herbal wine chicken soup

Many Chinese street vendors nearby like this which seems very popular with the locals

more from the luk luk van - wild boar meat in the middle!

Hubby's favourite penang kway tiao from Ah Heng near to the hotel.
