KL Trip 28 to 31 Dec 2012

Stayed at the Traders Hotel near KLCC - Room 2013 - same number as the new year. Wonderful view of the Twin Towers from our room. Excellent service from the hotel - responded promptly to our request for extra pillows and a DVD player. The reception was also kind to point out the food outlets nearby.. Hairdryer, two phones, iron with ironing board, free high speed wi-fi and many more...
Our deluxe twin tower view room at Traders Hotel.

The twin towers from our hotel room.

Nice food from Little Penang Cafe - esp Assam Laksa @ Suria KLCC

The Twin Towers taken from my hotel room at night.

The Skybar with the swimming pool in the Traders hotel - very popular but really noisy at night so I took this pic in the morning.

My hotel location is so good - from the convention centre next to the hotel, there is a air-conditioned walkway all the way to Bukit Bintang where many of the Shopping centres such as Pavillion, Sungei Wang, Farenheit, Lot 10 etc are located.

A lot of nice food along Jalan Alor - famous food street in KL - offers more food at night though.

Love the tim-sum at Jalan Alor - esp the Lao Sa Bao - custard bun

The food stalls in the market in Chinatown, KL.

Must try the Yong Tao Hu in Chinatown.

Went to this place at Suria KLCC for message (concourse level) - the foot and shoulder massage was so good I visited the place 3 times! For 1.5 hr at RM130

This is the air-con walkway from the convention centre next to our hotel to Suria KLCC concourse level.

The steak in our hotel - nice.

Love the in-room dining service - not too expensive and delicious food e.g. spicy fish with rice

Another local favourite - Imbi Market esp this stall which sells toast

Toasts from the stall @ Imbi Market

Cheap and nice wanton mee from the stall in Imbi Market

Kueh from the Imbi Market - the place was so crowded.

If you want to go shopping you must really go to Kanaga Wholeshale City (KWC)  - fantastic bargain and wide range of clothing. If you buy 3 pieces and above, a lot more discount is given.

The delicious fish porridge at KWC - still boiling at our table.

Went over to Viva shopping centre and ate at Kenny Rogers.

The side dishes from the Korean Restaurant

Ordered scallop, tiger prawns and beef from the Korean Restaurant.

Order in-room dining again - love the Mee Goreng!

Another local delight - Hakka noodle at Puda (wai shek kai)
The Hakka noodle

The free shuttle from the hotel to KLCC shopping centre.

Visited the aquarium next to our hotel

JB 11@century hotel 14 to 16 Dec 2012

Went to JB for a 3D2N quick getaway again. As most of the hotels including KSL is fully booked, I had to get the suite at a much higher price of RM500 per night at 11@century. The suite is very spacious and comfortable.

We went to this massage centre at Plaza Sentosa. RM125 for 2 hour massage.

There are many food stalls along the roads near Plaza Sentosa - one street is lined with Malay food stalls and the opposite street is lined with Chinese food stalls.

The most expensive meal I ever had @ 港一 seafood restaurant. we took sharkfin soup, cheese lobster, hairy crab and steam fish. The service was good as they helped to peel off the shell from the crab, including extracting the flesh from the tiny claws...

Not so impressed with the lobster which cost a bomb

Love the hairy crabs

Don't quite like the fish - paid so much for it almost RM100 - felt ripped off

Love the Peking duck from this restaurant opposite KSL.

The popular Bak Kut Teh opposite KSL- always fully packed.

Love the crispy fried meat and curry fish head from the restaurant near to KSL. The meat is crunchy and yet melts in your mouth!

Had our dinner at the Japanese restaurant in KSL - love the beef and sauce.

You must really try the kway tiao soup from this coffee shop next to KSL - generous serving of abalone slices at only RM8! Add the fish ball - so tiny and yet fragrant as they fried it first.

Delicious kway tiao soup in the coffee soup next to KSL

Look at the large slices of abalone and I love the deep fried fishball - would definitely come back for the kway tiao soup!
