12 teams of 48 students from our school participated in the National Stamp Collecting Competition 2014. They attended the workshop in which they learnt how to present stories based on different themes using philatelic items such as stamps, miniature sheets, postcards, maxicards, stamp booklets, first day covers, commercial covers and slogan cancellations. The competition aids to sharpen students’ skills such as research, organisation, language and writing.
Our teams did us proud by winning one Gold, one Silver with special prize and 9 Bronze! The winning entry for the Gold award, Blooming Beauties, is also selected to represent Singapore in the World Youth stamp exhibition in KL, Malaysia in Dec 2014 http://malaysia2014.com.my/!
