Singapoliday 2 @ Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa Resort

Singapoliday 2 @ Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa Resort from 14th to 16th Dec 2020.

Truly a relaxing island escapade.

Day 1

We grabbed over to the hotel early at 9am to leave our luggage with the concierge. Completed the registration so that we only need to collect the room card later when we are done exploring the island. I wanted to explore Tanjong Rimau and the Fort Siloso skywalk but hubby was hungry so we took the bus to RWS.

Many of the shops including Malaysia street (opens only at 11am) were not opened so we took the bak kut teh.

Need my morning coffee so we went over to McCafe.

Using Google Search 3D view in my space to bring a giraffe to celebrate Christmas using AR!

As I bought the USS tickets with early entry from klook, we were admitted early at 11.50am. I used the Singapore rediscover voucher for this so I need to top up only $39 for the two tickets. I also went to USS website to reserve the date.

It suddenly rained.

Had fun using AR with Google Search 3D view in my space.  Brought the dinosaurs to USS! The only ride we had was at the Jurassic Park.

The crowd was forming everywhere so we decided to go back to the hotel at 2.50pm. Happy that the room was ready when we arrived at the hotel and that it had been decorated for our anniversary.

The view from the balcony is awesome. Truly feel like on a vacation.

Thanks for the cake and room decoration for our 27th wedding anniversary.

International buffet in the hotel $68 per pax. Love the grilled prawns. All are nice except the oyster omelette. As the order is via the app, I think we miss out some food. Just realise esp my ice cream not received. Another con is that there is no beef steak available.

Day 2
Sun rise. Spectacular view from the balcony. Love the sound of the birds.

Peacock at the Silver Shell cafe.

Love the breakfast, esp the masala dosai and appom! Great comfort food porridge and vegetarian beehoon(x2)! Greater variety and tastier than Fullerton!

Wanted to go to Tanjong Rimau but the tide was high.

The hotel has a heritage tree. Used to have a lot of these Angsana trees near my primary school.

A very unique flower in the hotel premise.

Missed the Sanrio Christmas light up as it rained yesterday night. Wanted to book for tonight but it's fully booked.

Went to Fort Siloso skywalk. I was here with the NCDCC students last year for their hike.

Fort Siloso and the museum at the end of the skywalk.

Very cute painting on the rocks along the road out of Fort Siloso.

The reason for staying @Shangri-la Sentosa is that it has an amazing beach front.

Enjoying cocktail by the beach. Christmas special and Beam Dream.

Really love the pools. Like it that the staff would really ensure that the children do not enter the adult only pool and that the water jets in the jacuzzi provided a good massage. We were given wrist bands indicating our session and this was closely monitored for the safety measurements.

Went to Trickeye museum and had fun with the AR. Used their in-house app as well as Google search 3D view. However the scale pales against the one we visited in Phuket.

Using the museum in-house app XR museum for the animation

Added the AR dinosaur with Google search 3D view.

Lunch at Malaysia Food Street. Had Claypot rice. Like it that they cook it with charcoal.

The SEA aquarium was so crowded. Took the videos with my AR shark. Well the theme is sharky Christmas right? Could not see the fishes cos of the crowds so added a little bit of fun with AR.

Love the jelly fish. Could only take from a distance as there is a queue for them too.

The hotel look amazing at night too.

Grab the chicken rice from Tiong Bahru as hubby suddenly wanted chicken rice and the in-house dining menu doesn't have that.

Room service. Satay with cocktail Mai Tai and Margarita. The satay sauce was nice but the lamb satay was not as tender as those I had in JB though they are bigger in size.

Day 3

Breakfast buffet at Silver Shell Cafe. Saw 4 peacocks!

Dosai was still as good but the waffle was cold and hard. The otah was too starchy too. We had a better breakfast the day before.

Super excited to finally see Tanjong Rimau again after 28 years! Wonder whether my first batch of students from Rangoon Sec remember this place. We were measuring the beach profile and making observation of the cliff features such as the notch and cave. Before the hotel opened next to Tanjong Rimau.

Beautiful hotel

What I will miss most of the hotel will be the pool and the beach other than the sea view from the balcony.
