Singapoliday 3 @ CSC Changi

Last staycation before work starts @ CSC Changi from 20 to 24 Dec 2020.

Day 1

Left our luggage at the CSC Changi to explore the area.

Didn't realise the rich history of the CSC Changi. The area was developed as early as 1905.

Interesting buildings with rich history nearby. The flora is well preserved. The boardwalk built around a very old tree.

I didn't plan properly. Forgot that the coastal settlement would be crowded on a Sunday. Gave up as no seat was available indoor. We waited so long outdoor which is quite hot and no one came though we pressed the call bell so many times. Hubby said the the place is nice but the service is poor. If you want to visit the place, either make a reservation or come on weekday.

Settled forTang tea house. Service is much better. Love the chicken rice.

My favourite goreng pisang from the hawker centre.

Pictures with the Christmas decorations as the room is not ready yet.

Taking a drink by the pool. Need to enter the pool with the pass issued which I have yet to receive

It suddenly rained. The view is still spectacular with yacht, boat and even a ship passing by.

Bowling available in the CSC too! We were given 6 games. Shall check it out another day. There is a bistro that serve snack. Didn't realise it's just next to the ferry terminal. I could see the boats at the ferry terminal from the recreational building!

Too bad the Lots Gourmet is under renovation and the Muslim Delights is used for a wedding function. Limited makan places in CSC. Luckily plenty of eateries in the area and the hawker centre is just nearby.

Finally checked into the room at 3 pm.
Beautiful and spacious room with spectacular view. Full sets of plates, bowls, chopsticks, cutlery and even knife, scissors and can opener are provided. Only two coffee capsules were given though... will need to ask for more. Like it that both detergent and hand wash provided from the dispensers. Cold and hot water available from the dispenser. There is a microwave oven and fridge by the side too.

Love the spa quality shower panel. You can choose rain shower, handheld or even the water jets.

Relaxing at the jacuzzi. Beautiful view of yacht and boat passing by. Hubby love the deep and wide pool

Tabao from the hawker satay, bbq chicken wings, famous nasi lemak beef rendang and deluxe set. Watching EPL in the room.

The plane, the boats and the wind.A most relaxing view from the balcony. Wish there is a lounge chair at the balcony. Or maybe shift the swing to the balcony. A true vacation. Don't feel like in Singapore. The sound of the waves, the wind and the smell from the sea reminded of my beach front stay in Pattaya.

Day 2

Woke up early to watch hubby's favourite team Man U against Leeds United. No breakfast provided so made our own. Amazing team. Man U scored two goals within 3 mins!

Going to the kelong later. Relaxing at the beach near to the inscription of the island sculpture.

Beautiful view of our chalet on the opposite bank.

Coastal erosion

Sand bags could hardly buffer the impact of erosion. Climate change and sea level rise has posed a challenge.

Didn't realise this was the place where the massacre took place during the Japanese occupation. First time I hear of pulau sejahat too

Wonder why the rocks are here. Beautiful stroll on the beach

Ordered lobster and ribeye steak at the Seagrill. The restaurant has a nice view of the sea. Soup of the day is chicken soup. We also ordered the cocktails Sunrise tequila and sea breeze.

Had fun bringing some AR animals to the playground.

Crossed over to the Changi coastal point via the bridge next to the ferry terminal. Will be going back there for our kelong visit later.

Called the number given and one of the boatman approached us to bring us to the Smith Marine floating restaurant. We were the only 2 on the boat. Pleasant 15 mins ride.

Wow hubby caught such a big fish.

Wow the fish is so gigantic. The biggest and sweetest ever as hubby caught it. The cereal squid is so soft to my surprise. I have swap the crab for the prawns, my most loved dish. The fried rice and Kang Kong are nice too. Oh my goodness. I love the coconut drink so icy.

Went to try the famous Melaka chendol but was disappointed

Finally our turn in the pool

More food from nearby hawker centre. Getting the feel of JB.

Day 3

Love the view from the balcony.

Breakfast at Changi Hawker Centre. Fried carrot cake, toast and soft boiled egg

Took a ferry to Pulau Ubin.

Sonneratia mangrove near the jetty. It has a more rounded breathing root sticking out of the ground.

My first bicycle ride with hubby. Rented the bicycle for $30.

At Teck Seng's place.

Taking a break at the hut.

Saw a few monkeys along the way.

Attap seed from nipa palm

Avicennia pencil like breathing roots

Many mud lobster mounds near the entrance of Chek Jawa

The Rhizophora with the prop roots.

The hexagonal benzene pods are part of NUS life science students' research into planting mangroves, and a total of 390 pods are installed along Chek Jawa!

Spotted a number of wild boars.

Hubby was not feeling well after the strenuous cycling to Chek Jawa so we took the taxi van ride back to the jetty. $6 per pax

Lunch from nearby Changi Village Hawker Centre. Love the Ayam Baker and Ayam Pengyat.

The view from the balcony is beautiful. Decided not to swim as hubby was too exhausted from the cycling in Pulau Ubin.

Had dinner at Tekong seafood nearby. The salt and pepper sea mantis is so very nice. Love the chilli crab, shark fin soup and potato leave too! Well recommended ~  compensated not being able to go to JB for food.

Day 4
Beautiful sun rise

Swimming round 1 in the morning as we miss it yesterday.

Big Pao from JB handmade followed by mee rebus and coffee! Compensating my missed holiday in JB

Rhizophora seed washed ashore

The seeds have germinated to young plants on the rock face

Beautiful beach. Hubby said has the feel of Pattaya

Just love the sound of the plunging waves.

Coastal erosion still at work

Swimming round 2 to use up the last pool tickets. Unlike Fullerton and Shangri-la Sentosa which is one slot per day, I am issued four pairs of tickets for the 4 nights. Time given is shorter at 1 hour.

Truly enjoyed the swim. Hubby taught me to surface to take in air.

Big chair which is so relaxing for couples.

Going to miss the view from the balcony. The boats, the planes and definitely the pool.

Dinner at Jacob's Cafe nearby.

Mushroom and tomato soup

Cocktails High ball (not nice) and long island

Spaghetti

Crispy German pork knuckle

Beautiful view from the balcony at night.

Day 5
Beautiful sun rise

This will mark the end of my holiday.
We took a total of 3 staycations and created a truly 🅢🅘🅝🅖🅐🅟🅞🅛🅘🅓🅐🅨 experience.

My sis said it's as though we travelled overseas.
3 staycations with 3 different experiences. Make up for all the holidays missed in 2020 as we could not travel overseas. Ready to be back at work next week! 🆁🅴🅲🅷🅰🆁🅶🅴🅳

➊. Fullerton Hotel for its rich heritage and club indulgence. We also visited the Asian Civilisation Museum, Merlion park and Gardens by the bay:

➋. Shangri-la Sentosa for an island escapade with touristy activities visiting Fort Siloso skywalk, Universal Studio Singapore, Trickeye museum and SEA aquarium. Not forgetting Tanjong Rimau which I revisited after 28 years!

➌. CSC Changi for a balik kampong experience with a visit to a floating restaurant and Pulau Ubin. The closest we can get for a JB getaway.
