JB Holiday Villa Sept 2022

JB day 1

Our first meal at JB in Sing Lee restaurant next to KSL. Love the Char Kway Tiao. Left home 8.30am and only reached hotel at 3.30pm today.

Bought a pair of specs with high index from Dr Specs. Hubby gotten his high index and progressive. Good service. Our third purchase.

Picked up some food from KSL. Missed the goreng pisang and the banana ball which I bought in March's visit and it did not disappoint again. Love it. Tried some food from Feng Yi stall. The yam cake is delicious.

Love the crab and minced meat porridge at Woon Yin Seafood near to hotel opposite KSL. Ordered the otak and passion fruit drink which are equally good. A sumptuous dinner make up for all the hours lost in the traffic jam. Will bring my mum here again Nov.

Bought some delicious pastry (ham and cheese croissant, custard donut, viennois red bean butter)  and hot white coffee from Space cafe in the hotel for supper.

Always love the night view from the hotel room. Wanted to go to sky26 but the live performance was so loud. Got the shock of my life and left. Will wait for my cruise end of the year. The RC live band always stringed my heart with the oldies... and not so loud. Looking forward to RC live shows and band.

JB day 2

Beautiful sunrise.

Breakfast at Hotel. Nasi lemak, naan with curry, chicken porridge and mee rebus. Mee rebus soup is watery and taste more like prawn mee soup. Took the yellow custard bun. The white one is Kaya and pink red bean. The sambal for the Nasi lemak is very nice. Naan a bit hard but the yummy curry made it ok. The porridge with condiments (fish with black bean, preserved veg) is always my comfort food.

Still our no.1 favourite. Sesame oil chicken, salted veg and the bak kut teh at Soon huat in Taman Sentosa. A must visit for JB.

Took a swim at the hotel's infinity pool. Love that it's only the two of us at the pool.

Grabbed over to Aeon Tebrau city but could not find the stuff we wanted.

Massage at JTC near to the hotel.

Love the foie gras as usual @chez papa for dinner.  Hubby's lamb shank is most delicious. My main is chicken Kiev which was not well cooked. Also ordered escargot and mushroom soup. Cocktail thousand Island ice tea and sunrise tequila.

Day 3

Beautiful morning though the sun is hidden. Construction of a new hotel by Novotel cum apartment nearby. Heard that carton king will be it's tenant as well.

Love the Puteri ayu Malay Kueh at the breakfast buffet in the hotel. Naan is softer today with yummy dhal curry. Sambal for the nasi lemak is delicious. Had porridge with fish and black bean, my comfort food. Took some fruits, pineapple juice and coffee with milk. The rest of the spread seemed similar to yesterday. There is noodle soup instead of mee rebus today.

Live egg station available too

It's noodle soup DIY today instead of mee rebus which I had yesterday.

Wanted to surprise my friend Ferrence at her stall at Qing Feng huat restoran and my goodness I got a surprise myself. The food court is so packed. Thanks for allowing me to cut queue and pack the delicious fried durian and banana. She told me two coaches of Singaporean just arrived. Walked over to a Hakka Kah Kah Lok restaurant and had the most delicious bitter gourd soup and fried pork. Hubby loves it so much.

Went to Paradigm mall. Love the display of lanterns there. Ate at A&W. The curly fries is so crisp and yet soft inside. The bun for the hotdog is so soft! Yummy tender beef hotdog. That's why we love their A&W here.

Stinky tofu and dessert with coffee at KSL food street. Love this food street.

One of my favourite wontan mee at yit foh. Added fish cake and fried wanton today. Nice.

Mid autum festival celebration with performance art of face change and dance by little ones at KSL. There were magic show and other dance items too.

Little farm in KSL

Lok Lok van next to KSL

Space cafe is less crowded today. Bought the unique viennois red bean butter again with almond croissant and kouigaman amann (cinnamon)

Day 4

Beautiful morning view of the city.

Hubby accompanied me for breakfast today. But it's so crowded  😅 Bee hoon, curry chicken, fried bun and dhal curry for me as well as porridge with salted veg and fish with black bean again. Hubby just wanted bread but he said it's warm and good.  Today DIY station is prawn noodle. Somehow felt that the coffee was a bit diluted compared to the past few days'.

Chartered a tour with Mr Chua. First stop at Ulu Tiram. Beautiful sandstones at the sand mining quarry. Weathering has given its beautiful shapes making it similar to a popular tourist attraction in Turkey.  Amazing Cappadocia Ulu Tiram.

Unique flora in the almost desert like quarry.

A secondary forest near the quarry.

A dilipidated house in the forest

Mr Chua on top of the cliff which is near to where he parked the car.

The entry point hidden by the stack of fallen branches and leaves.

The running water have curved those beautiful lines on the sandstone.

The barren land next to the main road.

A good use of old tyres for plant.

Visited the Sam Por Buddha temple next. It rained heavily so we proceeded to the restaurant for lunch.

Nice special consomme gravy lobster  but average golden flower chicken with prawn paste and sambal Kang kong.

A bit disappointed they forgot the volcano chicken which needed to be preorder. I actually pre-ordered in July and they confirmed by WhatsApp😥. I supposed should have reminded them 2 days ago.

Visited the eight temples village at Bandar Penawar, Johor, Malaysia

Prawn crackers at Eight Temple village. Yummy!!

Went to the Jomis old jetty. Didn't go down the beach as the only access was a very steep slope which I didn't dare to go down.

Looks like conglomerates in the rocky beach

Very unique bridge over Johor river.

Pasar Malam near KSL every Monday and was so crowded. Found my favourite boiled corn. Oh my goodness still as sweet and crunchy as ever  best corn! Bought the longkong and langsat fruits as well. Otah as well as potato ball. They really make such good potato ball.

The queue for fried oyster omelette too long so I didn't get any.

Very cute handmade candy

Bought one to try

Very nice potato balls
Long queue too. So bought from the one further away from KSL

My favourite crunchy and sweet boiled corn.

Taking a quick dinner at Century mee hoon Kueh nearby. The mee hoon Kueh is so thin and silky. Nice soup base too. Love the meatballs too. We love the crispy fried wanton as well.

Beautiful night view of the JB city

Went for massage at JTC again. RM60 for an hour body massage and RM40 for foot massage. Felt the relief from the aches.

Durian outside KSL. Black gold creamy bitter sweet. Small seeds.

Fried squid and oysters from Woon Yin seafood for supper.

Day 5

A great mix of Malay Lontong, Indian chicken murtabak with dhal curry and Western hash browns, chicken ham and beans. The chicken rendang and the sambal chilli are nice 🙂. The vegetable soup for the Lontong would be better if thicker.

Delicious Mee rebus and Kueh pie tee from Tong Guan kopitiam. Awesome coffee.

Packed the yummy Ah Ma yam cake which is just next to the restaurant.

Packed my favourite cream roll from Salahuddin Bakery.

Took some pictures at the mural nearby.

Took a Grab ride to the famous Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple (RM6). RM10 for entry and RM3 for photo taking but I gave RM10.
