Red Cross Youth

Just learnt that we have to cancel our trip to Bangkok and I have to research on alternatives such as Vietnam when I chanced upon the following videos on Red Cross Youth.

I think I saw Yu Ping(training camp), Shermaine , Afidah (ULP passing out ceremony), Afidah(archery) in this beautiful MTV - U n I, the youth of Red Cross:

I was so happy that all the Sec 2 and ChingYee passed the Standard First Aid Examination. 喜

For once - we achieved 100% pass for SFA (Sec 2 to 4)!!

Called Afidah to share with her the good news as well as to discuss with her the selection of cadets for the GOH for Speech Day.

While talking to her, twisted and strained my foot. Had to ask Ms Vani and Sihui to take over as I need to see the Chinese physician .....feeling really old ... seems like my body is breaking down. 悲

Praying for good health - my back pain had already caused me to be so far behind in my marking (refer to my previous post). I went to a Chinese physician today and have to go back again next Sat...

Singapore 2010 Logo Design Workshop

I was so surprised to see my son Chris's photo on the webpage - I didn't even know that he went for the workshop! I checked with Chris and he told me that he didn't know he was to go for the workshop too and the other students from his school are in Sec 3. It is a comfort to know that he is actively involved in designing which he has an interest in but I think he must learn to be more alert and organised. RCY Korea Camp 2008

My back is still hurting - I went to the Chinese Sinseh for "Tu Na" and was also given very bitter medicine which took me 2.5 hours to prepare and brew! I will be going back for accupunture as I don't think the western medicine worked for me. My husband said I should not have gone to Kukup and strained my back again.. well I could not have disappointed the kids right? However, I had to cancel my extra class with my new students from China as it is really hurting.

I was even more stressed when one of the Red Cross cadets called to say he could not make it for the "Every Second counts" competition this morning. I then realised that he did not want to go because the other boy could not be contacted.I had to make so many calls to see whether I could get replacement and was so disappointed at the boy who had betrayed our trust by the sudden disappearance. However, I am quite glad that the team leader, Hui si, managed to get the team to do well enough to get 4th placing and qualify for the finals which will be held on 17th Oct in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I had to monitor the 2 teams through SMS and realised that I sent over 40 Sms today! I just hope that the group will perform much better in the finals - their seniors won the 2nd placing in the same competition 2 years ago.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank those who had sent me sms and emails to wish me a happy teacher's day...
