JB June 2019 Holiday Villa

Quite a bit of traffic congestion and took one and half an hour today. After depositing our luggage at our hotel, we went to Yit Foh and ate the wanton mee which the locals recommended. I like the wanton which is soft and skin will melt in your mouth. However the mee and char siew (too lean) average. Coffee diluted. Look like they are expecting new development including cardboard king opposite the restaurant.

Grab to Aeon Tebra city at only RM12. Love the egg tarts but coffee standard has dropped too. Took pictures w some of the cute display.

Check in at Holiday Villa resort was a nightmare as there were 3 big church groups. Quite an unpleasant start. There is a need to improve counter customer service. Love the room, esp how spacious it is. Love there are separate rain shower and bath tub with shower. The view from 22nd floor is amazing. Just that the wait for for the lift is quite long too. Free drinks in the fridge. But 😱 there was a cockroach in the room!

Grab to Mid valley South Key which cost us only RM6 but getting back was RM13 as it rained.
We went to 帝皇鸭 Meng Meng Roasted duck in Mid valley South key for lunch. Roast pork has a crunch, char siew and duck so fragrant and truly worth the recommendation. Love the dou miao too. Lotus seed soup average.

There is also a Din Tai Fung here but look quite pricey too.

Went to the pasar malam which is opened every Mon near KSL but was quite disappointed with the food. The salt baked chicken not as tender as before.... Miss the one in Ipoh. The yam abacus and muah chee average. Should have gotten the buns which looked so cute. Too bad I couldn't find my crunchy sweet corn.

A dessert cafe 深夜食糖 in our hotel.... Never eaten anything as bad. Took a bite at the prawn toast and spit it out. The oil is so bad. The red bean OK as the rice balls with seasame fillings were so soft. The ambience seemed good so if you do visit the place just don't order any fried food.

Thank God the Satay from room service is nice.

Day 2
Day 2 Hotel breakfast. I would recommend the beancurd which is so silky. No wonder it finished so fast and they need to replenish again. Porridge is always a comfort food and the nasi lemak is good too. The pancake is also nice. Not so nice will be the chicken curry and dhall curry for the naan. Bad will be the meat bun. Coffee was pretty ok. And I like the guava juice. Had to get the waiter to find me a seat as it was simply too crowded! Must applaud the waiter and waitress for serving the coffee and tea promptly as well as clearing the tables. Well done!

Grab to capital city mall at RM10. My Goodness it is a ghost town. Only level one and level 4 theme park operational. No wonder Garfield look so sad. Visited the mall cos Garfield was my favourite cartoon character.

You can see level one to three in darkness as no shops have opened yet. Only the forth level theme park and ground level lighted up.

Cab to plaza Angsana for HJ Wahid mee rebus. Still like ours which is sweeter. However love the crunchy stuff on it. Chicken rice was a bit bland. I think the mall is really popular with the locals.

Grab to Aeon Dato Onn. The mosque nearby is so pretty. Our Hock Hua Tonic has a branch in the mall too. Bought some pyjamas. Grabbing back to hotel was the most expensive so far at RM27.

Dinner at Chez Papa. Always love their foie gras and escargot.

Thai Odyssey massage in our hotel is still the best.

The Yang Chow fried rice from room service is nice.

Day 3
Beautiful view of sun rise from the room.

Breakfast in the hotel as I love the silky beancurd. The lontong was nice but the bee hoon a bit bland. The steamed sweet potato was also nice. My comfort food porridge again but no braised peanut today. Would be wonderful with chicken floss. Must really applaud the staff at Pine Cafe as they are so warm and efficient. Really wonderful service despite the crowd. Was so observant and brought me warm milk for my coffee. Great day to start with.

Went to the coffeeshop Sing Li next to KSL. . A real disappointment. No more goreng pisang. Meat bun though soft the meat filling is not as juicy as the one before. The fried carrot cake is so hard. Took only a bite. Grab to Aeon Taman Universiti but nothing much there.

Dim sum at the restaurant in the hotel. Nice chicken feet and meat porridge. Of course tea was good.

It just have to rain when we are about to swim. Was thinking I can finally swim after two days of rain....

Grab to Paradigm cos Ian asked to print the customised T-shirt there. Printed the design too small 😥 so he said he will come over tomorrow.

While waiting snacked  at the Jeuk Sing cafe. Like the north point egglet.

Finally managed to swim.

Massage at JTC recommended by colleague. Really cheap at 60 min foot and 30 min shoulder for RM70.

Had the best Peking duck ever at Long Hwa 龙华 next to our hotel. So well roasted skin with egg crepe. The meat fried with bean sprouts was so good and the prawn crackers were so crunchy.. but too full to finish up. Wished they had half a duck instead of one. The foie gras really melt away in the mouth. Like the tofu appetizer too. Had to buy some fruits to aid digestion.

Day 4
The hotel breakfast was so packed and I don't want to wait for them to refill so didn't get anything today.
Grab to City Square mall for Ho Seng Kee wanton mee. Really love their mee. Can really taste they made the mee fresh.. so nice you will yearn for more. but need to control my diet so took the smaller portion. The soup base is also nice though I prefer the clear type. And the fried lard you can die for... again need control... However Yit Foh wanton is better in that it's so soft it melts in the mouth. They definitely can improve on their wanton. The fried wonton melt like paper at a bite. Green bean soup is nice too! Do not quite like the otah as it's too spicy and starchy.

Long queue at A&W Paradigm mall. Wow the curly fries are so crunchy. Ian took the chicken as well as the Coney hotdog. The mug were kept in the freezer and root beer poured in so no need for ice. Unique

Ian can really eat.. pork, pork belly and meatball with some rib eye beef Hubby took rib eye beef, fish and prawn. I took the pork cheek (shaped like a rose) set. HK chilli is really good. Had Miso soup base w hubby and Ian took Sukiyaki. All the meat are delicious at Arashi. The apple and rose tea is nice too.

Day 5
The big groups have left so not crowded at all at the hotels breakfast. However the spread is the same as Tues and no more beancurd.

Grab to goreng pisang mawar. My Goodness the serving is so big for RM5. Felt so bad as we only took a few. The crumbs are so crunchy. However hubby prefer the banana to be more ripe. The sauce dip is unique though. You must try their Mee Siam wrapped in banana leaf which is so good.Nothing special for nasi lemak.

Wanted to goto cats cafe but not open yet. Grab to deep cafe and saw it's closed. Thank God found this Chinese restaurant Yi He Feng nearby with my favourite black bean soup. hubby took the herbal chicken soup which was nice too. The pur er tea was nice too.

Love the infinity pool. We have the pool to ourselves again today! My backache disappeared in the water. The weather was so hot so the cool water was a real relief. There is a hot pool and sauna in the toilet. There is a children's pool and a gym next to it as well.

Went to Matang to eat the porridge. Recommended by my friend 小宝。I ordered crab (RM23.10)with fish (RM6.30)and minced meat(RM2.10). Hubby ordered fish head (RM28.35)with minced meat and fish ball '(RM2.10). The fish were all so fresh and soft. Same for crab. Can ask them to skip the fish ball if you order. However I was shocked at the single serving which I feel definitely can feed two! Didn't finish again... Feel so guilty. If you do eat remember single serving is for two not one 😅. The home made five spice roll (2xRM6.30) is nice too. Would be better if they use chestnut instead of carrot though. But the marinated meat and beancurd skin is really good!

Had a massage at Thai Odyssey again.

Visited the Japanese restaurant Muraii in our hotel again. Too bad the Wagyu beef is now changed to one which is marinated… still not too bad as the juice is still locked in. The grilled hotate taste good like grilled cuttlefish but a bit small. The tempura is really crispy. Sashimi fresh but slice very thick.

The late night dessert place in the hotel. Think many patrons tonight cos of the ambience. So packed tonight. The ginger potato soup and the rice ball with sesame filling is not bad.

The luk luk truck near to the hotel opposite KSL.

Day 6

Repeating the menu from Wed. Didn't take the Nann. Will really miss the beancurd here. So soft and silky. Like the hot soy milk too.

Kway Teow and BIG bun in coffeeshop nearby. The meat in the bun taste better but the skin thicker though still soft.
