JB Grand Sentosa hotel Nov 2017

Day 1
Trapped in the traffic jam for 2 hrs and finally had my first meal in JB at Restoran Tan  陈记西刀魚圆。😗

Wanted to go for a massage at Let's relax in the same complex as our hotel but counter service is poor and I don't know why they have to lock their door... 🤔 Finally had it at Fizzio opposite our hotel though it is more expensive.

Took a cab over to Aeon Tebrau City and had dinner at Arashi.
The quality of the beef is much better and I like the slices of cheek pork slices made into a rose.  I always love to order their black prune blended ice which is not on the menu. The HK chilli sauce is nice.. not spicy at all.

Supper from the Penang char kway tiao, BBQ chicken wing and must otah.

Day 2

Lunch at A&W at Aeon Bukit Indah.

Went back to hotel after some shopping. Had another massage at Sabye Sabye which is in the same complex as our hotel.

Took a cab to Pelangi Food court. Really miss the claypot rice there. Another reason for visiting it is there is a Pasar Malam there every Tues.

Main reason for staying at Grand Sentosa is the many good food around the area. Love the satay which fats melt in your mouth. The porridge is so good and there is always a queue for it.

Day 3

Chartered a taxi to bring us to Pontian and Kukup. Same Mr Lee who brought us to Desaru in Sept. First stop is the famous Sin Kee wanton mee. The otah is very nice too.

Needed my morning coffee so went to the one Recommended on johor kaki Kheng Guan Hiong 琼源香咖啡店 which is near to the fish market (JB trip 2016). A bit disappointed that the coffee is a bit diluted. The toast and egg were good though.

Visited Tanjung Piai, the most southern tip of the Eurasian continent. Quite a number of homestay in the area. The mangrove has been conserved as a nature reserve park.  The telco service switched to Indonesia's line near to the jetty!

After that we visited the next mangrove nature reserve at Pulau Kukup. A much bigger nature reserve with the tallest mangrove tree there. Saw a variety of mangrove and giant mudskipper as well as some monkeys. The boat also brought us to a Kelong.

Plant germinated from the seeds of the Rhizophora.

Coastal defense using gabion with the mangrove

The fish will spit and shoot down the food.

Dinner at Restoran Kukup Laut. Love the dou Miao.

Started to drizzle on our way back to the hotel.

Supper from the restaurant near to my hotel. BBQ stingray and clam. The clam is so huge. Love the Vietnamese rice rolls $12 and finished all!

Day 4
Went over to KSL but sad to find my favourite coffeeshop closed. Love their coffee and goreng pisang. Took my brunch at the coffeeshop opposite it.

Finally got to eat my favourite bak kut teh and sesame chicken at soon huat bak kut teh near my hotel.  Both worth dying for.  While waiting, I ordered the latte from next door. Can't believe it's so good. Thick and creamy. With the sauce from sesame chicken and the salted vegetable hubby finished 2 bowls of rice

Supper from Kimdo opposite my hotel. Really love the BBQ. The prawns are big and I love the chicken wings.
Went to 777 to pack the char kway tiao again. Decided to buy the curry puff from the food truck. The sardine one taste better.

Day 5
Going back to Singapore today.
Breakfast at food court in the same complex as my hotel. Not as good as restoran Tan. Miss the fish ball and soup at restoran Tan. Should have just cross the road and eat there.
