Day 1
Back to JB for more good food, shopping and massage before work starts again.
Stayed in Grand Sentosa as there are lots of good food around the area. Like the spacious room and the TV can be flipped over to face the sofa or the bed. However they had forgotten my preference for non-smoking room and this room at level 2 (2002) has a strong cigarette smell - finished spraying half a can of freshener!
Took a cab to city square as Ho Seng Kee, one of my favourite wontan mee stall has shifted to 6th floor in City Square. The noodle is still as good - will be back next trip. However the dumpling quality has dropped.
Took a cab to holiday plaza and then walked over to KSL for more shopping. After that went to get my favourite goreng pisang from the coffeeshop next to KSL. Love their bananas which are ripe and Sweeter than those in our pasar malam. The crust is crunchy and nice too. The vegetable spring roll is nice too. Love their coffee and hubby also ordered the Ipoh fried kwatiao.
Miss the goreng pisang so much!
You must try the fried kway tiao - moist and tasty plus such big prawns too at only MYR 5 !
We went back to the hotel and then went to Fizzio located opposite the hotel for massage. Just MYR 265 for two pax for 2hr of body massage. After the massage, we went to One Shabu Shabu nearby for our dinner. Love the pig bone broth and only a total of MYR 104 for such a spread of goodies! Big jug of chestnut sugar cane drink, one beef set with the following added - vegetable, squid paste in a tube, fried yam, scallop, liver, blood cubes, premium beef and two pig bone broth.
Day 2
Took a cab to Aeon Tebrau City and had lunch at Tang Sifu now known as Souper Tang. Love their mee sua and flower tea. Hubby also ordered the bird nest soup. However he was disappointed that they added an egg to his favourite yellow wine soup mee sua as he said it spoilt the taste. Must remember to tell them to remove the egg in our next visit.
Love the scallop and abalone slice mee sua
After some shopping, we went back to Macau Express and was disappointed that the egg tarts were sold out and there is a two hour wait for the next batch. Settled for the mini bun which were good too!
We went back to the hotel and then for massage at Zillion in the same building within plaza Sentosa which my Hubby prefered. The charges are the same as Fizzio. After that we took a cab down to Plaza Pelangi which was disappointing as there are not many shops. Crossed over to Chez Papa, one our favourite French restaurants in JB.
The star dish which prompted us to visit the restaurant again. The foie gras melt in your mouth!
Supper at the street near to our hotel. One side of the road lined with Malay food vendors and the other side Chinese food vendors. Love the bubur nasi from one of the Malay stalls at only MYR 5.5 per set. Hubby even asked for extra porridge. The bbq fish from the stall next to it was so soft and fragrant with their special sauce. The stalls are closed on Monday. The place was so crowded and we were entertained by street performance as well!
The porridge comes with 3 plates - one plate with salted egg, peanut, prickles, salted fish, another plate with ikan bilis fried with onion, the last plate fried kang kong.
Ordered the bbq fish from the stall next to it. Love the fish which was so soft and the lady had skillfully removed the bones. The sauce were unique accompanied by the smell of charcoal with banana leaf.
The luk luk van parked outside the hotel operates till 4am. There is another one parked at the back of Sentosa plaza. Love the variety of items stringed on satay stick. You can choose to deep fry or cook in boiling water. There are 6 types of sauces and chilli to choose from.
Must order the bean curd skin - so crunchy!
Day 3
Went to Sutera mall for more shopping. Quite a lot of promotion there and hubby managed to buy some shoes and bag. The coffee from the kopitiam is nice but not so for the noodles. The penang laksa near to the stall seems more popular.
Went to Soon huat near to hotel for their bak kut teh and my favourite seasame oil chicken. A hot favourite with the local and this is the main one in Taman Sentosa.
Supper packed from nearby stalls. The fried kueh tiao placed on banana leaf- so fragrant!
There is a bbq stall next to the Penang Kueh Tiao stall. Love their otah.
Missed the satay from the Malay vendors near the hotel. There was a piece of fat in each stick which melts in your mouth when you bite it and the meat was so tender and fragrant as the vendor used charcoal.
Day 4
Went to the 24hr Zamzam for breakfast. There is free wifi there as well!
