Day 5 Nha Trang and Day 6 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Day 5
Beautiful sunrise and saw some fishermen hard at work when we reached Nha Trang, Vietnam. We had to go to the Savoy dining room to pick up our tender ticket to Nha Trang.
We had noodles and Vietnamese sandwich while waiting for our driver. I bought a sim card at US$7 at the port.

I have booked the tours in Vietnam with Vietland Discovery US$85 for two with port permit at Nha Trang and US$200 with port permits at Saigon (Ho Chi Minh). Our driver, Tien, for Nha Trang was better as his English is much better and was able to introduce Nha Trang well. However it was drizzling when we were there.  We visited the  Nha Trang Cathedral, Ponagar Cham Towers (admission fee of 22000 Vietnamese dong) with a local dance performance, Long Son Pagoda and Cho Dam Market as well as Hon Chong(admission fee of 22000 Vietnamese dong),  where there is music performance and the rocks near the beach is beautiful.

We had lunch at a local restaurant Duah Xanh which was very good. Love the fried fish on mango slices.

We had dinner at Crab Shack. My goodness the Alaskan crab legs and giant shrimp (which I thought was lobster) were so good. However the portion was so big we could not really finish them.

We watched Monique performed again at the Princess theatre and then watched Jurrasic World at the Neptune’s Reef and Pool again.  The horizon court was opened till midnight so I went there to pick up some items especially fruits. Ordered congee for supper again!

Day 6
Arrived at Phu My at 7am and luckily it was a bright sunny day today. However the ride to Ho Chi Minh was quite long – around 1 hr 40 mins.

Had breakfast at Pho 2000 – the place which Clinton visited in year 2000.  The beef pho and spring rolls were good.

After that we went to Ben Thanh Market which I found my favourite bag designs. Pretty crowded at the market in Cholon (Chinatown) and we didn’t get anything there

Chinatown market - Cho Binh Tay - a lot of wholesale items but too crowded to find anything.

Stop over at a factory producing local craft using pearl anda shop which sells handmade ships – really wowed by it.  Went to Notre Dane Cathedral followed by the Central Post Office.

Had lunch at Vietnam house – average and very expensive! The best item was the rice spring roll.

Beautiful sunset when we are back on the ship. Had dinner at Horizon Court buffet.

Watched the performance by AJ Clarke in Princess Theatre. He was really very good and always draw such a crowd! Watched the Yes/no game show followed by the performance by Party Band the sound at the explorer lounge and VOP Duo at the Piazza after that.

Had supper - ordered the vegetarian fried noodle and congee. Both are excellent!
