Checked in at the premier lounge at Novotel Danang Premier Han River for the executive corner suite we booked. Nice view from the lounge. There will be afternoon tea from 12 noon to 5pm and pre dinner canapes from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.There is complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the day. We will be having our breakfast here too.
A welcome cake with some pastry and mandarin oranges awaited us in the room. There is a separate living with another TV, balcony and a toilet. Our bedroom has an amazing surround view of the river. There is a bath tub and separate shower area. Another toilet bowl too. The room has a panoramic view of the Hans river as well.
Walked to the Luk Lak restaurant nearby. Ordered grilled pork cheeks, fried fish , morning glory with egg. The food is average though this is known as a Michelin restaurant. The pomelo drink is nice but the egg coffee is super sweet.
Going to meet Dong for our food tour at 5 pm.

Quán Cô Hồng - Đặc Sản Đà Nẵng. Very local Vietnamese food. Love the baby squid. The fish wrapped in rice paper is unique. Soup noodle is like our kway teowsoup. Love the fried rice paper dip in fish sauce too.

Back to the hotel lounge to try the pre dinner canapes and cocktail.
Gotten the red wine, cosmopolitan cocktail and blue Lagoon mocktail. The drinks were good. Tried some of the canapes. The canapes paled against Fullerton hotel and Shangri-la.

Danang Day 2
Good morning Vietnam. Sky look threatening. Hope it is better later. Going to the mountains later.
On our way towards the Linh Ung Son Tra Pagoda on Monkey Mountain. We stopped alkng the beach and Dong explained to us the bowl like basket boat originates from Da Nang. She said it is made of bamboo base and then coat with a type of leaf. It was used for smuggling during the French rule and then later used for fishing. The fishermen would also use the leaves from the tree nearby to make a trap for fishes.
The monkeys charmed the tourists. At the same time they would grab their food at Monkey Island.
Us and our zodiac signs in the zodiac garden. The Vietnamese zodiac has a cat instead of a rabbit.
Lovely story of how the Buddha mother gave birth to him in the garden. He stood on the 7th lotus pointing to the sky and ground symbolising the connection of heaven , human and earth.
Nice raspberry cheese and brownie cake. Very strong Vietnamese and milk coffee.
We were so full that we went back to our hotel to rest a while. Love the panoramic view.

Breakfast in the hotel again. Quite a spread and gotten the warm pho and porridge. The pancakes are very nice too.
Very warm hotspring. Very serene and not crowded this time of the year. There are 3 hot spring pools. First one 32, second 40 and third50 degree Celsius. Love the hot spring
Relaxing Jacuzzi and good soak in the warm water. The water jet made a good massage
The area is so big so luckily there are buggies bringing us from point to point.
Relaxed in another jacuzzi before our 30 mins Mud bath. Soften our skin.
After our bath, we took a cup of ginger tea before our 1 hour massage.
Visited a shop in the sculpture village instead as it started to rain heavily. The fisherman will work here during the rainy season as they cannot go out to the sea. Hubby bought two stone rings. The carvings were really good.
Visited Hans market. Too crowded for my liking.
Went to Khong Gian Xua for our lunch. The restaurant is decorated like that of an ancient city.
Hubby finally gotten his steamed fish, lobster, spinach and shark fin soup here. The food and ambience of the place is nice.

Grabbed to the Son Tra night market and had an hour foot massage only 250k dong for an hour. Half the price of that at Hoi An.
Had cheese fondue and oysters for dinner. So much better than the one we had years ago at Suntec ccity However I vomited and had diarrhoea after that. Think my stomach doesn't take raw food well.

Hot Springs Park - Công viên Suối khoáng nóng Núi Thần Tài Đà Nẵng. Beautiful garden with an interesting dragon waterfall.
We went to to the sauna. There is a salt sauna which is so comfortable.

Must delicious hotpot with tom yum and herbal soup base. Love the spread especially dipping the you tiao into the soup which is so nice.

Went back to the hotel after a whole day at the hotspring park.
Visited the premier lounge for suite guests. The canapes are better today. Had Margarita and hubby took red wine Merlot today at the lounge complimentary for suite guests.
Grabbed the car to Bach Dang walking street. Many families are out here for the weekend. They have gotten the seats out so that the patrons can see the dragon show though it is on the other bank.
Grabbed the car to Vincom plaza. Suddenly feel like eating Peking duck so ordered half from Crystal Jade in Vincom Plaza, their only mall. We packed back the duck meat as we were too full.
èFinished up the duck meat from Crystal Jade for supper. The cream puffs from Highland coffee at Vincom plaza are so good. Soft crust and creamy milk cream.
Danang Day 4
Sun rise is beautiful today.
Breakfast at the lounge. Very small spread and not as delicious and hot. Vietnamese coffee made by the staff is good though.
Hubby's belt broke and we grabbed to Han Market to get one.
Cửa Ngõ CafeWent to Danang Museum at the back of our hotel. Very interesting 3 levels of display. One level showcased the cultural of the locals Infrastructure Danang, another one Vietnam war and one more on ancient Vietnam that looked like the Chinese.
A sumptuous lunch at Madame Lan restaurant. Indeed this is better than Luk Lak. Ordered the Sautéed prawn with lemon grass and chilli, signature grilled pork collar and grilled squid as well as French beans. Also ordered pomelo drink , watermelon juice and coconut juice.
Grabbed a car to Tan Cafe. A very beautiful and cosy cafe recommended by our guide Dong. Excellent Latte and Cappuccino with croissants. The snack which is crackers with shrimp are not crispy though .
Grabbed back to our hotel. Very nice cheese cake matcha pound cake and macaroon with tea today. Love the longan here too. Very sweet and juicy. Nice view with the Han River and golden bridge in sight.

Had a wonderful massage and my goodness it is only 950000 dong for 3 hours. Really felt so rejuvenated. First time it comes with hot stone massage and also hubby had his first cucumber facial mask applied while he was having his foot massage. Thanks to my guide Dong for her recommendation for such an awesome massage!

Quite a spread today. Love the duck summer roll, spring roll, salad with sesame paste and the dark chocolate mousee tonight. Also gotten the coctail of the day cosmopolitan in the premier lounge complimentary for suite guests.
Will be going on at river cruise to see the dragon show. Beautiful night viewed from the lounge and our room.

Grabbed a car to the night market to have our late dinner there. Most of the restaurants were closed after the river cruise. Ordered the lobster at 500,000 VND, half grilled with garlic butter and the half spring onion. They gave us the oysters, river prawns and morning glory free. The fried seafood noodle at 100 000 VND tasted very nice. The fruits were only 20 000 VND.

Very nice and crispy fish noodle.
Visited the Marble Mountain. Interesting temples inside the caves.

The queue at the immigration is really slow and long. You should really check-in 2.5 hour earlier.

Hubby took a picture with the stewardess seated next to him, taking off. Opted for economy with extra leg space. The Singapore Laksa and the chicken meatball pasta are not bad. The chocolate cake and bread are good too.
