Lijiang Dayan and royal banquet

Lunch at Dayan Feng Wei restaurant 大研风味菜馆 recommended by our driver cum guide. Love the crispy prawns, fried pork ribs with mint leaves and kang kong. The fish has too many bones for our liking. Love their local delicacies. Highly recommended by our driver cum guide in Lijiang. There is no menu so you just point to the ingredients and let them know how you want it to be cooked. Impressed with the local food from the Naxi ethnic group, main ethnic group in Lijiang, like the Bai in Dali.

Checked into Huayi Donglin 丽江花雨东林.

Took a Didi to Lijiang Ancient city flower lane.

Stopped at a cafe for coffee. Bought a meat pancake but feel that the ones at Dali is nicer.

Went to the the Lijiang royal banquet. Its basically hot pot. I like the quail egg, rolls. The beancurd desert is nice with the crunchy biscuits. However cannot associate it with royal.

The performance was not as good as the one at Zhang's Garden.only the Guzheng performance was good. The last part was absorb with dancing to modern dance with sunglass.

Day 7

Not as good breakfast here. Hubby did not like the amenities but praised their service. The place is actually quiet and cosy. Hubby said facilities 2 stars but service 5 stars. The staff were super nice.

We went to buy the oxygen kit and the medicine for high altitude.

The golden packaging was to be consumed before we ascend and blue packaging at night in Shangri-La. The green one for the next day. The drink was very bitter, mainly made from ginseng and red ginseng.

The oxygen tanks are easy to use.

Took a photo with our guide cum driver Ah Jia 阿甲 at the Tiger leaping Gorge bus bay.

Awesome river at the tiger leap Gorge. Learned so much from the in-house guide who accompanied us on the escalator ride. He told us not to take pictures when we go down as the money will flow out. So we took pictures when we are going back to the top. The river is located between the two holy mountains, Yilong Xue Shan of the Naxi in Lijiang and the Haba snow mountain of the Tibetan. The tea traders used to wait till the river water is low in Nov and Dec then used a bridge to cross over for the tea trade route.
