Day 1 Boarding Sapphire Princess and Day 2 Sea day

Day 1
Just came back from Australia for a music exchange programe http://edgefieldband.blogspot.sg/2015/11/australia-music-exchange-and-cultural.html?m=1   and off I go for this long awaited cruise!

We checked in for a 10 night cruise on Sapphire Princess! Our cabin was on Deck 10 and our balcony was so spacious. Pleasantly surprised with the balloons outside our cabin as well as a card with the words Happy Anniversary. We met our cabin steward Jose who did a good job keeping our cabin clean and getting us the extra pillows. Love the bed and the soft pillows (feathers) as well as the amenities in the room! This is definitely better than Royal Caribbean’s!

We had lunch at the Horizon Court buffet and I am quite impressed with the variety available. Checked the facilities on board with the treasure hunt card and went for the muster drill and then a glass of cocktail in the skywalker lounge.

We had coffee with cakes from the international cafe at the Piazza (open 24 hours). Hubby won the free tournament tickets for blackjack at the casino from the treasure hunt (which we did not go at the end).

We took our dinner at our assigned dining room and guess what - they brought out a special cake with anniversary written on it and the servers sang us a song!

Watched the Welcome aboard show: “Do you wanna dance” by the Sapphire Princess dancers and singers at the Princess Theatre. After the show, we watched the body balance duo: Emma and Cody performed in the Piazza. This was followed by a wonderful performance by the dance to the music party Band in the Piazza.

We went back to the room and ordered room service. Unlike Quantum of the seas, there are no midnight charges and the congee with condiments and floss was so nice I ordered for 9 nights! The chopped chicken with fried rice and the wonton soup was a disappointment though.
There are different types of chocolates on our bed every night. Love them!

Day 2
Beautiful sunrise on sea day. I went to check out the breakfast at Horizon court as well as the pools - the pool terrace at the rear of the ship was best pool on board and we swam there whenever it was sea day.

We decided to have lunch in the International Dining room. We did not have much appetite so we ordered only the seafood platter and omelette.  Saw a demo of vegetable craving in the Piazza and decided to go back to our cabin to enjoy the view from our balcony.

Played the scratch card and won US$10!

We also had the English afternoon tea at a charge of US$10 per pax and was given a cert! You can also opt for the normal afternoon tea without additional charges. We went for a swim at the pool terrace.  Beautiful sun set before dinner.

For dinner we booked the hot pot which was a wonderful experience on sea and I love the chicken soup base and the scallops.  There were only two nights with hotpot (same place as crab shack) which coincided with the formal nights so we had to miss the first one.

We saw the Captain’s welcome aboard party champagne waterfall in the Piazza and it was pretty awesome..

Captivating performance by Monique Dehaney in Princess Theatre. We watched the movie The Martian on the Neptune's reef and Pool deck  which was screened as Movies under the star.

Chocolates on the bed. We ordered room service for supper again - Love the congee and the chips with hotdog.
