On the way to Macau by Cotai first class. A pack of snacks and a drink is served for first class. Most importantly we have priority in alighting.
Venetian Hotel is really huge and all the rooms are suite. I have paid for the room online 30 days early with a 30% discount. The room is really huge.
VENETIAN MACAO HOTEL is so sweet as to arrange this for our 20th anniversary. Cupcake will be sent to the room at 9am tomorrow!
Even the toilet is so big with 2 sinks, shower area, bath area, dressing table, and another room for toilet.
Love Macao fisherman wharf but too bad it rained!
Love the hot pot at Fisherman wharf... esp the prawn paste, taro, live prawns, beef in the hua tiao wine chicken soup. Didn't like the meat ball. A relief from the cold weather.
Greatest disappointment.. came all the way to this alley for the charcoal claypot lamb 强记羊腩煲 and was told that the stall had not opened for 3 days due to the rain.
Horrible food from the food court.. thought that the famous pork burger 大利来记would be good but turned out to be so salty and the bread not fragant and too soft. There used to be a long queue when it has its own stall in Cotai. The fishball and chicken wing has a weird taste. The soup dumpling from the neighbouring stall doesn't taste fresh and the skin is so thick.
Resorted to ordering room service. Love the crispy skin chicken. Though the wanton mee is not as good as the one in Hong kong central, it is still delicious! The beef fried noodle is too hard though so hubby shared the wanton mee with me.
This milk taste so good and I wish we have it in Singapore! Waited 3 years to taste it again.
View from my room on day 2 - a sunny day today!
Cup cakes sent to the room from the hotel at 9am - so sweet!
Went to 红街市which is a market. Over there I brought some biscuits from this traditional pastry shop. After that we went to the popular tea house in Macau 荣华。
After that we went to St Paul ruins 大三巴。I realised tthat the locals perception of `near' is so different from mine. we asked the local where we can take the taxi to the ruin and they say very near and gave us the direction. However I walked till I really break! Thank God the bridges have elevators.. we should also have that in Singapore.. esp for elderly to be like me. Passed through two temples and one of them is very unique - 包公廟.
The view from the fort where the canons are is breathtaking. However the climb up was a challenge and my legs were all woobly! Then I realised I could have taken the escalator up from the museum! Revisited the ruins 大三巴and lovers lane.
Had lunch at 皇冠小馆.. highly recommended. Love the 虾孑捞面shrimp roe mee and the crab congee. Best noodle I had for the whole trip.
Went to Coloane to get my favourite egg tarts from Lord Stow 安徳鲁 at Colane。simply in love with the crisp and smooth egg filling. I still feel that its better than Margaret. The cafe is behind the store which sells egg tarts. Found a famous street from the TVB show 十月初五马路。the view from the coast is so captivating..with hills and wind mill in the background and a stream meandering into the sea in the foreground.
Remember my disappointment yesterday when I found out the charcoal claypot lamb store 强记was closed. We tried again today and it was opened. We reached the place at around 7pm and we are the last 2nd in the queue. Those behind was told that it was completely sold out. Waited almost 2 hours and everything else were so out.. love the meat and the sauce.. hubby said it was worth the wait. So many customers were turned away even as early as 730pm.. it is popular with the locals!
The popular street which sells many local snacks.
Went to this restaurant 海王老记for more food. Love the honey bean with lily and preserved sausage. The pigeon is even more crispy than the chicken we ate yesterday. The soup is nice but the portion was too big due to miscommunication... wanted a bowl but served a pot!
