Spectrum of the Seas Day 3 to 5

Day 3 Phuket

Forgot to change my time back one hour and ended up waking up one hour earlier😅 before reaching Phuket.

We were given a letter for Key guests to gather at the music hall at 7.30am and the staff brought us down to deck 2 for the tender boat as we have priority disembarkation.

Finally in Phuket. Started our Phuket tour with friendly taxi and tours Phuket.

So happy to see Mr Chai after 3 years. If you want someone to drive you around you can WhatsApp him +66 87 267 9016. A very honest guy and English speaking. 8 hours 2500 baht. Grateful to him

At Mee Ton Poe for soup noodle as hubby wanted something soupy for breakfast.

Awesome soup noodle. The rice noodle kway teow is so silky smooth. The soup base is like our mee hoon kueh's.

Total 220 Baht (around SGD 8.70) for 2 soup noodle and 2 coffee.

We visited the Trickeye museum Phuket. Admission is 500 baht per pax. We were last here in 2014. We were the only guests today and the staff helped us took our photos. https://mrslilylee.blogspot.com/2014/12/mariner-of-seas-day-4-and-phuket.html

Compare to the one we took in 2014.

Awesome lunch at Mor Mu Dong restaurant.
The stuffed fish is awesome. Crab meat roll is so good too with the sweet plum sauce. River snail is nice but very spicy. The coconut soup is yummy. Ordered blue pea rice. The coconut water is so icy cold and a saviour.

Will miss this. Our driver said before the pandemic the locals need to wait almost 2 hours for a table cos the food is very good.

The ambience of the restaurant is so peaceful by the river with lots of mangroves by the banks. The total bill for 3 fish, crab meat roll, coconut soup, river snaila, 3 blue pea rice, 3 coconuts (I took 2) and coke was only Baht 1037 (around S$41) 😅

Upside down house

Tea at Three monkey restaurant. Nice ambience too! Real VIP in the pod which requires a minimum of 650 Baht spending. If you want to come better book in advance as the pods were actually fully booked. Their deep fried pig knuckle is so crispy and awesome. Hubby love it so much. I love the banana balls and mango  sticky rice. The milk with honey is awesome as well as the cocktail and lychee soda.

The cocktails were nice.

The coffee is basically expresso and I love the deco.

The milk with honey was really good.

My favourite banana balls and hubby's favourite mango sticky rice.

The highlight is the pork knuckle which is so crispy and nice

The ambience of the restaurant is good as it's in a forested area.

The restaurant is very popular and fully booked.

There is zipline and skywalk near the restaurant

There was a major landslide last month and it badly affected traffic. The road is still under repair. Without this road the alternative road would take an hour instead of less than 20 mins. Our driver Chai said they never had such heavy rain before and this could be due to climate change.

Walked down the Bangla road. Hubby bought a hat. You must bargain the price here. Somewhere 60%.

The BBQ smell so good but too full to eat more.

Took pic with the deco outside central shopping mall while waiting for our driver.

Look at the colourful tuk tuk taxi parked opposite the Central shopping mall.

Didn't know the flood water from the 2004 Tsunami came up so far inland.

Many stalls set up near the pier.

Patong beach is buzzling with activities.

Selfie at the balcony again

We were very full so we just ordered escargot, soup and shrimp salad. The menu for today below.

Magic show by Zlwin Chew. To be honest I was expecting something more grand. Probably pampered by performances from past cruises.

Ordered room service and watched world cup with hubby. Love the royal burger. The fried chicken wing is spoilt by the buffalo sauce. Also ordered the cookies and cheese cake.

Watched world cup Morocco Vs Portugal on Channel 27 again with hubby

Eating the shasimi take away from Izumi. Need to finish off the red wine by tomorrow 😅
Strange that they have cooked the shrimp when we ordered shasimi which is supposed to be raw. Quite nice of them to include the edamame. Overall no wow factor for their sashimi.

Ordered room service for breakfast which must be hang outside the door the night before. Though I would take my breakfast at Silver Dining, I would order packets of milk and a jug of hot water or tea. I would then be able to drink the milk at night. The jug of hot water is useful as after it is cooled, I poured it into the container to make my coffee. I think the coffee capsules at Genting dream is better. 2 water bottles was provided on day 1 only.

Day 4 Sea Day
At sea today. Did not catch the sunrise as the sky was cloudy.

Breakfast at the Silver Dining

I love white porridge but wished they provided more condiments like meat floss and preserved radish. Took it with the salted egg provided.

Just saw La Patisserie at Deck 4 which serves complimentary snack. Ice cream is chargeable

The pool is horribly crowded and hubby don't want to go in. I just took some photos at the solarium and left. Hubby said they should have a pool for suite guests like Genting Dream.

Wanted to take the snack at La Patisserie but they say the snack is available only after 11.30 am so we went over to leaf and bean. Bought flat white and croissant. Hubby said the crossaint is buttery and nice.

Relaxing at Silver lounge before lunch. Peaceful here. Ordered Ultimate Mai Tai and Shanghai sling. Shanghai sling is better as Mai Tai is a bit sweet.

Lunch at Silver Dining. The paprika was so crunchy and nice. The rice with chicken curry was the star. The pumpkin soup was thick and creamy. The Mongolian beef was very tender and nice too.

Love RC dessert. The mango trifle is so nice as compared to the eclair. Took some fruits to aid digestion. The yellow watermelon did not taste as good as the red ones.

A rare opportunity to take photo at the ship bow where the helipad is. Wanted to take on the second day but the weather did not permit. Grateful that we were able to take today. However the wind was strong and my hair keep flying over my face. The hat almost flew off too.

The photos above were available to be downloaded after 2pm. I also went to the aft  lift lobby area on the same deck as our cabin to collect our passports. You will need to show them all the sea pass cards to collect the passports.

I filled up the arrival card online as we would be arriving Singapore the following day.

Love the baguette. Last dinner onboard. Appreciate our waiter Leroy at Main dining room.
Lentil soup was very thick for us. Hubby loved his very soft lamb shank and I like my fish and chips. I am simply in love with the pavlova which is crunchy and then melt in your mouth. Forgot to take picture of the escargot which I ordered again.

Simply love RC shows featuring  dancers and singers. One of the reasons why I love cruises. RC ranks top in terms of shows.

Accompanied hubby watch the replay of the world cup England versus France.

Went over to Sorrento to get some pizza. Today's special is Carnivore. Their pizza is nice with the thin crust and is still hot from the oven. It is complimentary and close the latest at 2àm

Going to pack my luggage and put the luggage tag given. Last night onboard.

Beautiful Singapore at 6.35am

At Deck 4 MDR for Key's breakfast

Ordered VIP signature and smoked salmon.

Last photo before we disembark.

Home sweet home

My other cruises

Verdict for the Key. Totally worth it though it can be expensive at around S$160 per pax. It includes the WiFi access, early disembakation at the ports, especially the tender at Patong. Free from the chaos.
The lunch on day 1 and breakfast on the last day were good too.

Junior suite was awesome especially on this ship as there is Silver Dining.

Day 1 Embarkation and Day 2 Penang

Day 3 Phuket, Day 4 Sea Day and Day 5 disembark

The cruises I have been:
