Mariner of the Seas day 4 and Phuket

The ship arrived at Phuket at 7am (Phuket time) - If you go down from 7 to 730am you can go directly to the gangway at deck 2 to board the tender boat without queuing for the tender tickets. Those going on shore excursion with RC will have their own tickets. For those who wants to get down to Phuket after 730am are to get a tender ticker from the dining room on deck 5 and they will be scheduled to go onto the tender from 8am to 1030am.

Arriving at the jetty at Patong Beach
We took our breakfast at Roma restaurant near to the pier while I called Chai, our driver in Phuket. He asked his friend Charles to pick us up. Breakfast is excellent and I get to use their Wi-Fi! The coffee was so good that hubby ordered 2 for himself and I took one.
Chai quoted 1400 baht for 6 hours but as we exceeded the time and Charles was so nice we gave him 2000 baht.

Our first stop at the upside down house - pretty cheap at 500baht for both of us. The service was excellent as the in-house guide helped us to take pictures so there was no need to use our tripod.

Our driver brought us to Tiger kingdom as it was along the way. However I did not dare to go into the cage so we left the place.

Great fun at the trickeye museum! We seemed to have the museum to our own and the staff even walked with us and helped us to take the photographs. However the admission charges are higher at 1000 baht for the 2 of us (500 baht per pax).

Look at how the picture of Mona Lisa turned to Van Gogh when you change your angle!

Our taxi driver brought us to Rawai for lunch. Here you will buy the seafood from the fishmongers  and then give to the restaurant to cook them. The one which we went to Gypsy @ Rawai is highly recommended by tripadvisor.  I love the sauce which they used to cook my squid. The vegetable was so good that I finished them on my own. However we could not finish the fish as hubby is suffering from motion sickness from the car ride. The charges for cooking is very cheap - 10baht for 100g. Our squid is 500g so it cost us 50baht and our fish 100 baht. The vegetable is 200 baht. However the fruit juice is very expensive at 130 baht.

Our driver brought us to Central which we didn't like as its too similar to Singapore's. We asked him to bring us to a more local shopping mall and he did - Expo in Phuket town.

Love this local shopping mall in Phuket town - managed to get some cheap t-shirts and my hair accessories here.

Love this dessert which I found outside the Expo mall. Its like ice kacang except the shaved ice is replaced by different scoops of ice cream and one scoop of sticky rice. He then added peach, corn, attap seed, grass jelly, peanuts and condensed milk on top. It's only 20 baht!

He then brought us to Jungceylon which is at Patong Beach. The shops and eateries along walking street and Bangla Road are not opened yet. Hubby said we should stay at Millennium resort located next to Jungceylon if we visit Phuket again.

As the last tender is at 7 pm, we reached Patong Beach at 6pm and boarded the tender back to  our ship.

We had our dinner at Windjammer - a good spread of food again... good variety and I love the Indian dishes. The drinks are only lemonade and lime... quite diluted like the soup.

Another animal towel and day 5 cruise compass awaiting us in our room.

Something which I looked forward to everyday - Production show time. Day 4 was the Gallery of Dreams which I find most impressive. The show was quite late at 1045pm (1145pm Singapore time) at the Savoy theatre.

Went to the bar to relax - beautiful 70s music such as If by Bread played by the guitarist.

We enjoyed the cocktail of the day - sparkling peach cooler and we got to keep the glass again.

Late night supper - smoked salmon - ordered one but the attendant sent two - specially made for me without the bread as requested! The chowder seafood soup was so salty.

Hello! Thanks for the informative posts. :) We are planning to book a phi phi tour with PhuketSRC too. May I know if the jetty at patpong beach was on the south or north side? And what time did you reach the land? He told us that we have reached by latest 730am.
