2025 Khao Yai Thailand

 Day 1

Arrived in Bangkok 8.20am and the ride to Khao yai was around 3 hours.

Our first stop was Banmai Chaynam บ้านไม้ชายน้ำ. It is an interesting restaurant by a river with a vintage toy museum.

Love the mixed vegetables most followed by the otak like fish. The crispy pork is too tough and the crab omelette is average. Love the longan drink and ordered two. Hubby loves the pineapple smoothies too. Total bill was 970 Baht.

A bit terrifying to cross the wooden bridge which shook with every step . A very nice cafe at the other side of the bridge. The restaurant gave 40 baht vouchers for the cafe which is on the other side of the bridge.

Driving in to Mövenpick Khao Yai.

Our beautiful room in Khao Yai. Living in a castle! The hotel was so nice to decorate the room and brought us a cake for our anniversary. The room is so beautiful with a Tuscan design and a great view of the flowers and hill behind. Love how spacious the room is too!

The view from the balcony is so picturesque.

Checked out the hotel compound. A real beautiful castle.

Complimentary chocolate and fruits for tea.

Felt so much like a VIP with the assorted beef and seafood set. I think the set is for 4 to 5 persons so we could not finish it. The drink is 1 for 1 free happy hour for the Chang beer.

Ending the dinner with Margarita and Long Island.. The staff is so nice to still bill us the cocktails under happy hour. Nice ambience for a drink. I had Margarita and hubby long island cocktail.

The buildings look so nice in the dark too.

Day 2

Went for breakfast at the main building.

The fried tang hoon was so yummy. The one in soup with bbq pork paled. Had my comfort food porridge too. The fruits and cakes were awesome. Hubby love his scrambled egg and pasta.

Back at my room. Love the view from our balcony. The building itself is like a castle and the room is so spacious with high ceilings.

Going for a day tour of Khao yai!
Our first stop at Hokkaido Flower Park. Too hot and too many flies so did not stay long.

Had the Hokkaido strawberry yogurt. If it wasn't that hot I would have rented the Japanese costume for photo taking too.

2nd stop at Primo Piazza.
Feeding the Alpaca.

The sheeps are from Turkey.

Went to Toscano valley and it poured so we left after taking photos.

Lunch at Timber Tales. Simply delicious.. Love the squid most. The fish is so crispy with mango salad and fish sauce.love the clear soup with minced meat too. The kale with salted fish was average. Highly recommend the butterscotch latte. Best Latte ever. The watermelon smoothies and passion fruit blue pea drink is nice too. Total cost 1305 baht. The staff is so attentive and brought something to chase away the flies.

Went to a 711 to pack some milk and snacks. There were some stalls outside it too. Bought some cut papaya and mango, 50 baht each.

A dip in the pool. Hubby used the bigger pool and I used the shallower one.

A glass of wine and blue Hawaian cocktail with fried chicken wings at our balcony. The birds chirping and serene at our balcony. A bit disappointed with the chicken wings though as it was tough and did not taste fresh.

Dinner at Chez Sonia Khaoyai inside Rancho Charnvee Resort. Love the foie gras which melt in the mouth. The waitress taught me to dip the toasted bread in the mushroom soup which was so delicious. However, the slices were so big that we were so full and we had to pack the spaghetti and lasagne back to hotel. Love the cocktail which is a mix of red wine, vodka and passion fruit.

Day 3

The sunrise is so beautiful and I could not fully capture it. The clouds float below the hill and the sun glows like a golden ball. Beauty beyond word.

Called a buggy to bring us to the hotel's zoo. My goodness the goats  and piglets were so hungry that they leaped on me and followed us everywhere we go. Asked hubby to feed them as they are so aggressive. 2 milk bottles for 100 baht and one container of carrots for 100 baht.

Love the experience at the zoo. One of the goats followed us to the main road to await for our buggy. The staff rushed out and brought it back realising it was missing.😅

Took the buggy to Estella for lunch. Great view of the compound.

At Soul Kitchen in Estella, a hotel next to Mövenpick Khao Yai, for lunch. The compound is also very serene with many interesting statues.

The pineapple fried rice is huge and flavourful.Plenty of squid, prawns cashew nuts, pineapple and raising. Love thechicken wings, so crispy and juicy, what a contrast to the chicken wings at movenpick. The mixed vegetables is nice. Fish took 30 mins to cook but hubby was delighted with it. He said the steamed fish is fresh and soft. Love the grape cream soda. I like the taro balls dessert. Hubby said his chendol like dessert is a bit too sweet. Service is good too.

Walked to the nearby hotel cafe for tea. Will call for a buggy to bring us back to our room. Ordered the Rose tea and Caramel Macchiato with a chicken puff and chips. The puff was so salty we didn't eat. However hubby love his rose tea. My coffee is thick but lack the caramel kick. Really love this garden cafe ambience.

Love the buggy service which is so fast to respond. Saved us from walking back to our room under the hot sun. Going to rest in the room till dinner as hubby didn't want to swim. Will save the swim for Hua hin as we have a pool access room.

From my beautiful balcony and areas near our building. Last night in this beautiful hotel. Hubby gave it a full 5 stars!

Beautiful sunset panoramic.

Went for dinner at flavours of Khao Yai in the hotel. Hubby had pork knuckle and I had beer bartered fish and chips.
One downside of Mövenpick is the food. So far I had the worst chicken wings ever and hubby said the pork knuckle was like reheated. My fish came with skin and didn't smell good too.
Happy hour beer one for one free again.

Going to miss this place. Last night here. Air is so fresh.

Day 4

Took my comfort food, porridge, and hubby took the vermicelli chicken soup. Love the mini doughsticks today but dont seem to have much changes in the menu. There is pineapple rice and soy chicken which we did not take as we were full. Hubby love their scrambled egg. The staff are very hospitable and warm. Made myself some salad and love the pumpkin soup.

Checked out the secret tower and took a picture with the prince. Did not manage to break the code  😅

Awaiting to be picked up.

Bye Mövenpick

Many cornfields outside the resort.

Lunch at Lungnuay Restaurant สวนอาหารลุงนวย
Stop at Lungnuay Restaurant for lunch along the way to Hua Hin. The restaurant is so serene surrounded with water lily pond.

Next stop The Buffalo Café.

Mid stop break at the Buffalo cafe. Nice caramel cheese cake and Caramel Macchiato. The coffee tastes so good. Love the caramel macadamia cheesecake too. It was very crowded suddenly with tourists from a tour bus.
